What we really like to see on the runways is how one garment is beautifully made. But this year Spring Summer trend report has something more to tell us. Prints from floral to animal print, we know it all, but in the mean while many designers this year, have come up with more styles, in prints which have caught our attention and we are drooling over it.
Gingham patterns existed before as well but this year they have got a bit bolder in style with colors and more creativity. At the runway, we observed how Victoria Beckham added contrast with colors and deep necklines while Marc Jacobs went more into abstract.
Summers are known for stripes and during this time we have tons of styles related in our wardrobe. The stripes get updated on every annual basis. Alexander Wang added a bit of baseball touch and thick stripes on jackets for a punk look while White stripes on long shirt dresses appeared in Nill Lotan’s collection. Knits, extreme stripes, jigsaws and fine stripes are the ones for the upcoming season, making stripes the best trend.
Floral prints have been around over the past few seasons which are now split into abstract and realistic designs. Jason Wu brought the print on the black background with mute colors on a tanned body. Mother of pearl and Duro Olowu did amazing print blocks. Gabriel Candana made shoulders and mini dresses look much more gorgeous with abstract floral designs. A little touch of psychedelic was seen at Burberry Prorsum too.
Tie and Dye
It’s one of our favorites print in the recent times and which has prevailed well again in spring summer 2016 along with modern twist. It’s more on the chic side this time, with cuts for the women making it more attractive. Pretty beachside asymmetrical dresses and slit dress in green, yellow and black were seen at Altuzarra. A sportier daytime look was seen at BCBG Max Azria as well. The skirts and blouses look delectable done by Emilio Pucci. Huge rings forming were seen at Narciso Rodriguez and spring on the pants at Maison Margiela.
These kinds of prints look marvelous when they are peek-a-boo or camouflage in women’s fashion. For this time high end line designs were seen which included voluminous skirts with long jackets at Rochas. Guy Laroche paired an olive green jacket with strappy sandals. The print here was hidden and merged with calf-length tights.
Illusion to The Eyes
For the coming season, this is one trend that will surely flourish. Swirl patterns with lovely green and yellow lines were seen at Dries Van Noten show. Daks brought in more whites and blacks mirrored print for a more confusing focus.
Strokes of Paints
The paint strokes are the new style that’s in from the spring summer 2016. Prabal Gurung collection left bare shoulders looked breathtaking. The beauty of brush strokes captured well with elegance and creativity on the Jasper Conran Fashion Week Runway Show.
Graphic Marble Prints
Marble is the most observed print for the spring summer 2016 with quite interesting colors. It adds boldness and graphic finish to the designer items. The Valentino pieces look striking with pop colors and sheer detailing on both garments as well as accessories. Shades of rust, brown and white throw a great impact through Roberto Cavalli designs.
